For the last three weeks, 10th graders in Chatsworth's Humanitas Academy have learned to determine the theme of works of visual art. They have curated a selection of art pieces that share "a message of peace" and have learned to recreate them as sidewalk chalk art. This exhibition is the culmination of their project and premiered as a part of our Carnival of Knowledge.

The Humanitas Academy of Education and Human Services is a collaborative environment where students engage in interdisciplinary project-based learning. Students connect to the classroom and local community through real life experiences, hands on learning, community partnerships and peer interaction. Humanitas teachers empower students by providing those opportunities for developing personal accountability, leadership skills, civic responsibility and a global consciousness. Humanitas Academy graduates are critical thinkers who have a strong sense of identity, value learning and see opportunities for personal growth.
