The border of the painting uses pattern and emphasis by displaying flags of the world to stress that the world is united under peace. The use of form in the painting makes the dove look very realistic, as if it were looking over the whole world, portraying that there is peace everywhere and between everyone. The painting uses unity to underline the message of world peace. As a whole, the painting symbolizes peace because when you focus on each aspect alone, the flags, the dove and the Earth all reflect a message of peace. The flags express world harmony, the dove is a universal symbol of peace, and Earth, the place where all humans live, signifies a common unity and peace with one another.
